Biography of Sifu Tim McFarland
Sifu Tim McFarland has studied martial arts for over 35 years in the United States and China. Received his Si-Gung title for Northern Praying Mantis in the 1980s. Sifu McFarland also received blacks belts in Okinawa-Te, Kobudo, Kenpo Karate, Iaido, and Tang Soo Do. Some of Sifu McFarland's teachers include: Sensei Yamashibu, Yoshikazu; Sifu Au, Chen; Grandmaster Brendan Lai; Grandmaster Fu, Zhong Wen; Professor Jiang, Zhou Chun; Professor Xu, Bo Ran; Grandmaster Zhang, Bing Dou; and his foremost Praying Mantis teacher: Grandmaster Wang, Xing Han.

In 1984 Sifu McFarland opened North Bay Kung Fu. North Bay Kung Fu Institute has group classes teaching 7 Star Praying Mantis, Okinawa-Te, Japanese Swordsmanship, and Chen and Yang Styles Tai Chi Chuan.
Sifu McFarland's accomplishments are extensive winning many national and international competitions. He now officiates and promotes many national and international tournaments; however, his primary focus is teaching serious students at his school in Sonoma, CA.
